Colorado Honeymoon
8/28/2009 - 9/14/2009
We had an amazing time! Each time we visit it gets better and better. We visited Mesa Verde. Where the early indians settled and built their homes on the mountain cliff-sides. It is so facinating to see how they lived and how we have evolved from those days. We visited four corners: Where New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona all meet. We even got to meet a famous actor. He was featured as an Indian/Mexican extra in movies such as Tin Cup, One life to Live, Blazing Saddles, Three Muskateers and many many more. We spent an entire day on the train from Durango to Silverton. Talk about BREATHTAKING views! (and lots of coal in your teeth) Above all I think my favorite part of the trip was our two day stay at a bed and breakfast just outside of Durango. It was so peacefull and relaxing. They had everything you would need and treated you like royalty. I spent most of my time laying in a hammock in the back yard. During breakfast, the humming birds would fly by, literaly inches from my head. We watched movies at night in our honeymoon suite and enjoyed wine and popcorn for midnight snack. It was just amazing and I really didnt want to leave. We found some of the the best food joints on our trip, thanks to Guy Fieri from Diners Driveins and Dives. Our favorite spot was in New Mexico at Harrys Roadhouse. Try the new mexico blue corn enchiladas...Christmas style. OH MAN! Its to die for!

Honeymoon Bound
Its been over 1month since the wedding! Now my days are filled with JD's loving company and Floyd. (and Kit Kit too) We have patiently been waiting to take our honeymoon, now that JD's summer time work has slowed down. We leave this Friday Aug 28th to Colorado. We initally planned to take a cruise to Alaska however, I have misplaced my birth certificate and its now too late to order a replacment in time to get a passport ordered. So hopefully we can take the cruise for our one year anniversay. We have two weeks to relax and fully take in Colorados beauty. We have a bed and breakfast reserved and a couple days of river rafting and a train ride through the mountains planned. CANT WAIT! I will try my best to keep updated posts as well as pictures. See when we return!

Bridal Shoot
The day has come and gone!
July 4th was the best day of my life! Our wedding ceremony was a little hot but very beautiful! The setup for the reception I hear was a little stressful but EVERYONE did a fabulous job! The cakes looked amazing and the tables and centerpieces were just perfect. The bouquets were everything I imagined they would look and everyone had a blast! The only hiccup we had were the fire alarms going off toward the end of the night, but noone seemed to mind...we are all just a bunch of dancing fools!
My wedding day was everything I dreamt it would be. There were nerves, tears, but most of all excitement! I couldnt wait to see JD in his tux and to tell him that I love him. Surprisingly I was very calm as I walked towards him down the aisle. My eyes were fixed on him and him only. I fell in love with him all over again when he said I looked beautiful as he carressed my hand. Yes I cried as I said my vows but I was so overwhelmed with joy. The day had finally come to say I do! But once I got the first couple words out it was smooth sailing from there.
Our carriage ride after the ceremony was magical. It was a chance for JD and I to talk about the day we each had and to take in being Mr and Mrs Thayer. JD told me he almost passed out when he got down the aisle. He was nervous, excited and dehydrated all at the same time. Thanks to Grandma Fishings water supply he was able to recover. That will be a memory to share over and over again.
The reception was so relaxing. The food was fabulous and the catering staff was very curtious. The DJ played all the right music to get our guests in the dancing mood. They were very organized and professional, but also amazing singers!
Thank you to everyone for coming out on their holiday weekend to celebrate with us! We had a fabulous time and we hope you did too!

When Mom, Jennifer, Ruth and I went to the bridal show back in Jan 2008 Al's formal wear had a wheel to spin and you could receive additional discounts depending on what you landed on. Well in the event of spinning you got to take home one of their teddy bears. When I returned home with a bag full of fliers from all the booths...Floyd to a great liking to the teddy bear. It has now been over a year now since the bridal show and Floyd has made this bear last so much longer than any other of his other babies! I have had to sew up eye holes but the tie stayed on. Hmm! I guess this is way of telling us he loves Al's formal wear!

6 Months to go!
2009 seemed so far away, but with only 6months to go I'm starting to feel the pressure. A lot has been done in the past year, from choosing a venue to selecting the perfect dress. Now all the little details are left. Choosing flowers and decorations has been my biggest obstacle but I know it will all fall into place...I hope! There's more to come so stay tuned!
Oh how SWEET it is!
